The Last IUI

It’s today.

I don’t know whether to get worked up or not.

One thing I always obsess over is my ovulation timing. I am instructed to POAS first thing in the AM and then schedule the IUI for the next day. BUT, what if I tested on Sunday at 8 am and then ovulated that same day around noon? That means that by the time I have my IUI today, 48 hours will have passed and my egg is no good. I keep reading that once the egg is released, I have anywhere between 12 to 48 hours.

But, this test measures the LH surge, which supposedly happens a day or two BEFORE the egg is actually released, right? Or is my test not sensitive enough to catch it a day or two before?

Actually, I think my test is picking up the hormone a day or two before, since my period usually comes at least 16 days after my first positive IUI. I know I’ve said it before, but my body is like clockwork – especially on Clomid. I have always gotten a positive OPK on CD 15, which means that I’ve always had my IUI done on CD 16.

Whatever. I’ve pretty much resigned myself to another month of disappointment. It’s just harder because this is the last one.

Sorry for being a downer. The good news (I guess) is that I’m going to the counselor tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll have a post after that.
